I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived. I was offered free coffee and tea, the owner agreed to individual arrangements for breakfast, the food was delicious and there was much more than I could eat. On top of that the communication has been amazing, I was picked up in Iprari, dropped off to continue my trek to Ushguli and arranged transport to Mestia the following day. The rooms were comfortable and clean, I had everything I needed and more! I highly recommend staying at Elos guesthouse, it was truly a pleasure staying there and would definitely stay again in the future.

Great place ,amazing people ,very clean ,hot water ,shared space with kitchen coffee and tea and kitchen equipment. The lady, Mama Georgia ,makes us for 2 days dinner and breakfast that was excellent and exciting every time, with alot of love . thank you Mama giorgia we will miss you

Best food we had the whole time we were in Svaneti. We were the only people eating dinner that night and there were loads of tasty dishes for us. The host was very nice and although she spoke only a little English she tried to help us with Google translate and her children spoke English. She also helped us organise a taxi back to Mestia. And the Wi-Fi actually worked well!

Amazing place, wonder views, communication with the host is very comfortable as she speaks several foreign languages ​​and is very attentive. A nice guesthouse located on the main road – easy to reach by car, yet green, quiet, and close to the center of Ushguli. The family is lovely and very helpful with any questions I had. The rooms aren’t very big, but I had a shelf where I could store all my things. I really appreciated the cleanliness and privacy, as I stayed in a separate house apart from the main family home. It had a fairly large living room with a comfortable sofa, where I could relax and make tea. There’s also a separate, spacious dining room where they serve breakfast and dinner. Sometimes I sat at the small table under the trees in the garden – a very peaceful spot. I was able to use the washing machine, and although Wi-Fi was available, I didn’t use it. The family also offers guided horseback tours. It’s a lovely place to stay in Ushgulii!

Beautiful location and you can park 10m away without having to go down a skinny cobbled street. The owner is helpful, and there is a cash minibar full of reasonably priced and super chilled beers, wines, cokes, and waters, which is great after walking up the cobbled valley. Even though it is a wet bathroom, it was the best shower of the trip so far.

It's a unique location if you're hiking from Mestia to Ushguli. It allows you to shorten your hike if you want to make it through Lagem Pass on day 4. It's a century-old traditional house, and the rooms are quite small. It can be noisy at night because of the other guests. Don't expect it to be similar to a big hotel. The host is super friendly. Local dinners and breakfasts are nourishing.

I had a lovely stay at Nora's Guesthouse. Located at the top of Ushguli, you can look onto the Greater Caucasus mountains from the front doorstep on clear mornings, with the monastery in the foreground. The breakfast was fantastic and the best value of all the guest houses I stayed in. It is a true working farm, so the eggs come from the chickens and the cheese from the cows that get milked each evening when they bring themselves home from the mountain pastures. The big black guard dog is super friendly and they have a horse you can rent to take you to the glacier.
