I stayed in Gam Bay for 8 days with my family. The place is probably the most beautiful in Raja Ampat. It offers stunning views to the limestone islets and small bays nearby, as well as easy access to the coral reefs around the bungalows. There are plenty other points of interest like manta rays point, Arborek village and reef, mandarin fish or Jetty Bum nearby, which can be reached by boat. The small island is visited by different species of birds. Their song is the only sound in this very quiet place. Aron and his family are great hosts. They are very friendly and took care to provide us with everything we needed. They cooked us very good traditional food. They brought us with the boat to the best places around and snorkeled with us, to show the best things hidden in the reefs, like sea turtles, manta rays or lionfish. Snorkeling around the reefs, amazing sunset and sunrise, great night sky, this is how paradise is supposed to be.

Beautiful homestay, which is very well maintained and run with love and attention to details. Of course it is still a basic accomodation in a remote location with limited resources. But we were very positively surprised by the comforts. Great snorkeling reef, lots of trip options. 2 rooms with AC available for a surcharge.

This is by far the best accomodation we've been in the area. Resort style facilities without the high resort price tag or crowd. It's more expensive than a homestay but the price difference is definitely worth it if you want comfort or a beautiful accomodation. We stayed in the overwater villa and it was great, very clean, wifi, electricity, felt just like being in a 4 star hotel. Staff is very friendly, excursions great and they are very helpful with anything that you need. Reef is amazing (lots of fish, turtles, moray and occasional black tips and white tips), overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

Closeness to nature, which is still unspoiled. Lots of birds, fishes and ofcourse the marine life that is easy accessible from PapuArts Alter Native Stay. Family feeling; easily to feel at home with this lovely family of four (Helga, Timon and their 2 beautiful young daughters who love to make friends). Oh, and I forgot their two sweet dogs Ringo & Dingo 🐾🐾 Owners are very helpful and speak several languages so easy to communicate with them. Internet is sometimes a bit unstable so take that into account when expecting speedy replies (sometimes it just doesn’t work and patience is a good thing to have). The food - home style cooking (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all cooked by the owner and her team and she is a great cook; we loved every meal which was perfectly catered to our vegetarian / pescatarian wishes) The rooms are close to nature as well, with very comfy beds (we stayed in both the smaller and the biggest family room, which easily fits 3 respectively 4 people; the 3rd bed in the smaller room has a wonderful treehouse feeling and there is a bunkbed in the biggest room). Hard to capture the beauty of the rooms in just one picture (I took several but could only post one here with my review). You can hear the sea and birds from your bedroom. It’s right next to you. No frills, just natural materials, which we loved. Also no warm water, but easily to get used to. There’s a shower and mandi style shower. Also your own toilet. Plus the blue blue sea right at your doorstep and a lovely sitting area with a hammock to complete the zen-feeling. There’s a long jetty into the sea with a perfect spot for exercise/meditation/yoga at the end. Fitness with a view! It’s quiet and feels very private. You instantly feel relaxed here. Different excursions to choose from, both on land and on/under the sea. Please note: these come at an extra cost and Raja Ampat area is not cheap!!!! The resort is beautiful, the water had different blue and green colors everyday, beautiful sunrise and sunsets. T The food that had taste of love, really we travel a lot and never saw a home made food SO great. The crew took us to the best dive spots we have ever been with security and the diver was super dedicated to give us good experience. Ramdhan helped us with everything we needed and more. We never wanted to live. Finally we will miss our cat friends Puri, Puti and the others. Good location, private bathroom, excelent bed, great food, nothing to worry but enjoy. Amazing snorkeling roght in front of the resort full of fish and colorfuk corals.

An amazing place—perhaps the best homestay in Raja Ampat. This accommodation exceeded our expectations. The beautiful huts offer plenty of peace and privacy, while still providing the friendliness of the local village people. With only three huts in total, it feels intimate yet welcoming. Frances, with his enthusiastic and generous laugh, is proud and eager to show everything. Snorkeling trips with him were unforgettable. The accommodation is very spacious with stunning views, an incredible house reef, and few mosquitoes or flies. The cool breeze keeps it from getting too hot, and it’s conveniently close to dive schools - which is easily arranged through Frances. His family is very nice as well. We will definitely come back here!

- Very various food, which was always good and a lot - huge terrace with a sun lounger and makramee hammock - great shower with water from the top (not only bucket) - very friendly good English speaking Rio (who was always there to communicate with the guests and have some chats) - cheap transfer boats - lots of trips available to different spots - we went snorkeling with Rio and the local along the wall - turtles, sharks and other cool fish to spot while snorkeling - use MapsMe (App) to find the hidden jungle tracks that lead you too the sunset viewpoints and cool snorkeling spots MAKE SURE YOU JUMP IN THE WATER AT NIGHT FROM THE JETTY BECAUSE THERE IS FLUORESCENCE PLANKTON IN THE OCEAN WHICH WAS ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL!!!
