Amazing setting and extreme peace. Our glamping tent had all we wanted and the staff were very accommodating. We recommend the boat safari for the variety of birds and some land animals but unfortunately we could not do the jeep safari because of bad weather,

My family (including teenage boys) and I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and produced a delicious supper and breakfast for us. We were positively surprised by the beautiful setting - if I could post some photos on this site, I definitely would! The property is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, wonderful fruit trees around the back and amazing spices, as well as a luscious green paddy field, all of which the host kindly showed us. The property is opposite a very pretty river and not far from the Gal Oya lake safari start. Would definitely recommend!

The food was exceptional. All delicious local food of very generous portions. Very close access to the national park. Easy for early morning boat tour.

Charitha Rest provides an open-air bath, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Ampara. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay.
