Aside from those mentioned, the best thing about this guesthouse is that it feels like home. The staff and the owner are so kind, warm, and accommodating. They allowed us to check in early because the room was already available and even let us eat breakfast. When we had to leave earlier than breakfast time because of a tour, they even offered to pack us some mango sticky rice. When came back to get our stored luggage, they even said we can shower in the shared bathroom even when we have already checked out. They made us feel like part of a family and genuinely cared about giving us the best stay. Thank you for such an incredible stay!

I stayed at Wayside Guesthouse in Chiang Mai for 3 nights, and honestly, I wish I could’ve stayed much longer. This was my first time staying in a guesthouse, and Jackie and her mom made it such a special experience—I truly felt at home. They were incredibly kind and helpful, assisting me with booking amazing activities like a Thai cooking class, an elephant sanctuary visit, and a national park tour. The breakfast was delicious every morning, and the atmosphere of the guesthouse was so peaceful and welcoming. I left with a full heart and a heavy one too. Khob khun kha mak mak, Jackie!

The property is 800 metres from Chiang Rai Saturday Night Walking Street. Chiang Rai Airport is 8 km away. We were staying for three days while visiting Chiang Rai. Our host was as super friendly and spoke perfect english (which is not that common here in Thailand). We got a lot of good and honest tips from him without them having an ulterior motive. Just for him we would probably come back as he also saved our day by getting us a short term transport to Chiang Mai. The breakfast options are few but everything that was there tasted good (Mostly fruit, toast and eggs). The rooms were clean, tidy and just what we expected. It’s also in walking distance to almost everything in the city center and therefore ideal for tourists. If we ever come back to Chiang Rai we would stay here again.

Featuring full-day security, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Every room comes with a balcony with views of the mountain. We needed a reset and this was the perfect location to slow down. Run by a lovely family with the cutest dogs. Sunset over the rice paddies was magical. Comfy bed and clean buildings. Delicious, well priced dinner which you can have at your room. Breakfast was superb too (we had rice soup and custard sticky rice). Good mosquito screens so you can have the shutters open. Great place to stay if you’re going to Doi Inthanon.
