It was a blissful opportunity to connect, chat about life, and catch up with each other without any interruptions. Helpful Staff: The helper at the homestay was incredibly attentive and accommodating. Despite only speaking basic English, his willingness to assist made our stay seamless. Thanks to technology, communication barriers were easily overcome, ensuring that we could make the most of our time there without any concerns. When one of my travel companions unexpectedly started her period and realized she had forgotten to pack sanitary napkins, the homestay owner went above and beyond to help. The sweetest family ❤️ They were very helpful and nice and even gave a free hotbath for your feet in the evening. Everything was super clean! It is a bit far from the centre, which is great if you look for a more calm vibe, but good to know if you are looking for more nightlife. But you can also rent a motorbike there and then you are in the city in 10min. Would surely come back here! Thank you for the nice stay!

The host is the best ever, awesome recommendations for everything, making our stay so relaxed. The host made all the arrangements and bookings we needed. The location is quiet and just off the busy street. It is only a 10 minute walk to town, well worth the nice and quiet sleep. The breakfast was yummy. The view from the room was amazing. The bathroom was authentic Vietnamese style. I would stay here again and again.

Cat Ba Mystery is a small homestay away from the noise and crowds of Cat Ba. The room was nice and clean. But the real value of this place is Thanh, the host. She was a miracle maker. She put us on the boating trip very late. She took care of our return to Hanoi. She made wonderful breakfast. And she made recommendations on places to see. It was great to be hosted by Thanh.

Wow!!!! This place was perfect!! Great location, super clean, i mean so clean you could literally eat off the floor!! Beautiful smoking lounge on the rooftop. Great location with a short walk to the center. We had breakfast every morning prepared by the owners wife that was absolutely delicious and the highlight was when the owner Mr Throng would come up to your table each morning with his own home brewed fruity Rice wine and pour you a shot with him and say “This is how we say good morning in vietnam” and believe me it was good, so good i asked him for a second round ;) Mr throng was very helpful with booking us an excursion the first day and renting his bike, he even pulled out a map of the island explaining to us in detail what route to take to get to the near by attractions and how long it would take and timed it perfectly so that we would reach the Jetty on the otherside of the island on time for a beautiful sunset. he even advised us about the money exchange rates in Cat ba advising us to try our best to pay by card or local currency and to save our dollars to exchange them in a bigger city so that the we would get a higher rate. his genuine character and warm personality made our stay in Cat ba a memorable one for sure! Would definitely without a doubt recommend Cat ba central homestay to anyone that is planing to visit and would definitely stay here if we ever return to cat bar in the future!!!!

I joined one of the Lan Ha Bay excursions and it turned out to be a highlight — the scenery was breathtaking and the trip ran very smoothly.
