The breakfasts were delicious with coffee or tea. They also provided dinners for a reasonable cost. Their patio has a tree, plants, chairs and a pool with fish and waterfall. The dining room is next to the patio. The bunk beds have privacy curtains and the beds are comfortable. This is an enjoyable family environment. There is a place to hang clothes to air dry, and access to a washer and dryer for a reasonable cost. They can drive you to many locations near or far for great rates. The hostal is in a controlled community. There are good restaurants within a 10 minute walk. And downtown Alajuela is a 20 minute walk. Alajuela is a very safe community to walk and enjoy the restaurants, parks, shopping, etc. Buses to and from the airport are in Alajuela (20 minute walk) or they can drive you to/from the San Jose Airport, which is a 10 minute drive.

What a great place! Electronic key entry worked perfectly. Clean and tidy. The private room had a comfortable bed. There are roll down blinds for privacy and to keep the sun out. The fan provides good air movement. The other travelers I spoke with were interesting. Independent traveling women with ages ranging from 20 to 50s. It was fun to share stories.

This is the second time I stayed here and it will remain my go-to hostel in San José. The quality you get for this price is unmatched. The breakfast is good and fresh every day and it is very clean. They've added a co-working space since my last stay. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend it more.

Loved my stay here! Grocery store at a walking distance, and super close to the bus station. I had to leave at 5am, before breakfast was served but they offered me breakfast in a bag so I can take it with me 🙏🏽 This hostel is spotless, 100% recommend!
