Quiet location, clean house, welcoming atmosphere. A place for travelers by a traveler. It's a short walk from the station and all the important spots are within walking distance. Found this place and was curious about the host which so many reviews talk about.  Makoto san hosts guest in this house for 16 years now. His japanese respectful distant etiquette can make room for warm extensive travel talks.  The house is orderly clean and it feels like you're visiting a friend's home where you can meet other travelers. If that's what you're looking for you found the place! I'll stay again if ever back to Kanazawa. All the best for you Makoto san!

Fantastic location, I cannot stress enough how wonderful it was to have it so close to Kanazawa Station. The rooms were very clean, and the showers provided had baskets to bring clothes with you in. Towels are changed daily which is greatly appreciated. The common area is what one has to pass through to get to the rooms which I prefer as you can soeak to a lot of people that way. Also the lady at reception desk is extremely cute with the alt style. Staff are very helpful to the fact that they know there is no elevator and are willing to assist in bringing the luggage up for you (please ask nicely as luggage can be heavy to bring up three flights of stairs). To add onto that, I had lost my wallet and between the police and the staff of the hostel, they were able to deliver it to the hostel and provide a date and time for me to collect it, and were able to provide feedback where there was a delay in delivery, which was extremely appreciated. There is a map of the immediate area that shows the best restaurants, cheap laundry, places to drink etc which is extremely helpful (especially if you want to try something new or rather eat cheap you can see options).

The staff is amazing!! Super sweet and very helpful! The rooms are comfy and all the common areas are well cleaned! The kitchen with the fridge system is so nice, oh and the rooftop too! (Just be careful the stairs to go up there are quite steep!)

Great place to stay for a relaxing stay. Shaq seems like a great guy and his place is very nice. Great location in the middle of town. Nice to have a bar option downstairs and it doesn’t go loud until late

The owner created a beautiful lifestyle combined with world class Japanese history houses. Wonderful landscapes window view, full packed kitchen, cafe beans..so on. We don’t have enough time exploring more there.

The location was the best thing about this hotel! For a capsule it was quite nice, the mattress was a lot more comfortable than expected and fairly spacious - the ceilings are pretty tall. Stayed in the women’s dormitory and felt very comfortable and safe, definitely worth the money if you just gonna stay for 1 or 2 nights.

Great location: 5 minutes from Kanazawa station! The hostel is on 3rd floor and there is no elevator, so it can be hard to carry a big suitcase. The common area is divided into common and female area. The common has bar hockers and female area is with normal chairs. Free coffee and tea. Beds are big, with a lot of space above, a wooden crate locker, space under bed for suitcases and a shelf above the bed for else. Towels are changed daily.

You get what you pay for. Cheap hostel. Location is good and bad depending on what you’re planning. If to stay near the train station: great, if you want to see the touristic places, it’s too far to walk all the time, too close to take the bus

Very centrally located, close to everything you need to see in Kanazawa and not too far from the train station by walking. The owner of the hostel is an awesome guy who speaks English very well! Will help you with anything you need even if it’s insights on life about his crazy stories of meeting people ( Ask him about the bus crash)
