First of all upon arrival to the hostel it was very very appealing from the road, I felt like I was arriving to a fancy condo in the states 🤣 Chavvy & Shailie were amazing, they made me feel so welcome that I really left feeling like I have family, from good laughs to even dropping me off at the bus stop because I was a little nervous - tremendous. I put my hammock up in the garden which the caretakers helped with & was astonishing to simply be in the amazing garden with such diverse wildlife (there was even a local peacock!) I only booked this hostel because I'm a travelling yoga teacher and needed somewhere calm to practice & teach - Alma hostel allowed me to do just that, with excellent ifi and many spaces to teach from whether the garden, the upstairs lobby/co-working space or even my room was big enough. My all time favourite thing about Alma's was the interior design - like wow. Everything was custom made with wicker/bamboo and the interior was exceptionally clean - I genuinely felt like I was crashing at my own place. Loved it so much.

This is the second time I have stayed here. It is a very comfortable place. I am happy that I can spend my time very freely. The staff here is also very friendly. This is the only place where you can get very comfortable, low budget and affordable accommodation around Colombo. I highly recommend this place. Thank you to the Havelock City Hostel staff for your dedication.

I loved it! The owners are so welcoming and nice, they have very good common areas to chill and meet other travelers, as well as a pool. There is AC on the rooms so it was nice to sleep without suffering from the hot humid weather

Everything! Perfect location, comfortable beds, quiet nights, AC working properly, stable wifi, huge lockers under the beds. Most importantly, the hospitality of Charu, the host and how knowledgeable he is, providing tips not only for Colombo, but many other routes in the country. He also keeps the place suuuper clean, which is a very big asset for me personally! You can also order breakfast, which is simple, but you have a variety of teas, jams and fruits. Great value for the money you pay. I look for no other place when I am back to the city and will undoubtedly recommend to others.
