There are many rules for check-in, but I like it this way. We make it clear in advance and follow it, so that everyone can maintain a good atmosphere in the youth hostel. The kitchen is large, with two sets of stoves, so everyone can cook without waiting for a long time. In Calafate in January, the sunset is very late, and the kitchen has great lighting. The breakfast is rich and delicious. The opening time is also suitable for the tours. The toilet and shower are very clean, the hot water for bathing is very large, and there is a hair dryer. It is not far from the bus station on foot, and it is convenient for public transportation. There is a small blue house at the intersection, which is a supermarket. It sells delicious beef and reasonable-priced Coke, hahaha.

At America del Sur Hostel, all rooms and dormitories have beautiful views of the valley and mountains beyond. They offer private bathrooms, lockers and heating. I think this was one of the best hostels i have ever stayed at. The staff was super friendly and super helpful. The common area was really cozy. The kitchen was big and very well furnished. The lo cation as well was excellent, close to the center and to the lake but also offering a great view from the garden and the common space.

Accommodation at Rancho Grande Hostel includes mixed dormitories with shared bathrooms and private rooms with en suite bathrooms. All have simple furnishings with bright yellow walls. We had a private room and bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. Access to the common area was great.

Set against an impressive Patagonian Mountain backdrop, Bla Guesthouse is a quaint guest house in downtown El Calafate. It features white and honey wood exteriors and is conveniently located only 2 blocks from San Martin Avenue, the main commercial street. Fantastic stay!! Great hosts, location and value for money. We had the entire place to ourselves and couldn't have enjoyed our experience any better.

Situated in El Chalten, Constantino Hostel by lo de Guille has a garden, shared lounge, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. The accommodation features a shared kitchen, a concierge service and organising tours for guests. The location is great as it's super close to the main bus terminal so if you have a heavy backpack/luggage and you're coming from El Calafate, it is really convenient. The rooms have a lot of power outlets, great for charging electronics and the showers are nice and hot. Hot water is also plentiful and I did not experience any issues with it despite being in a small trekking town. The free breakfast is a nice bonus - it is simple (being bread/toast, croissants and sometimes some sweet pastries with tea and coffee) but it's lovely to have something to eat for free in the mornings especially as the local food places are quite expensive, relatively speaking. The price speaks for itself, great value for money! The beds were comfy. Rooms were well heated and I went during Autumn when it could get as low as 0°C. I have to also shout out the amazing volunteers/staff. They were so friendly and helpful. I lost my cell phone walking near the hostel and one of the volunteers helped me look for it and went to the police station and tourist information centre with me as my Spanish was extremely limited. I luckily did end up finding it and I can't thank them enough.
