This boutique hostel is just 5 minutes' walk from a variety of cafes, restaurants, bars and galleries in Salamanca's waterfront precinct, including Salamanca Market. It is 5 minutes' drive from Hobart CBD (Central Business District), 9 minutes' walk from the ferry to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), and 20 minutes' drive from Hobart Airport. We had a lovely stay at Montacute. It came recommended by a friend, and didn't disappoint! The location is perfect (in Battery Point, next to Salamanca, 15 minute walk to Coles and Wworths). The building is charming, as is the eccentric owner. Kitchen is good size, shared bathrooms are clean, and the book exchange shelf has good books and is well kept. Hairdryers can be borrowed.
