It was only a 10 minute walk to the entrance of the forest park. The owner was super helpful and booked tickets for us for both the forest park and Tianmen - saving us time when we got there, particularly with Tianmen. Our room was very comfortable and we were given fresh bottles of water each day, a nice touch and much appreciated after a hot day walking in the park.

The staffs were incredibly friendly and helpful, which immediately put me at ease. It's truly excellent value for money. My bed was very comfortable, and I slept soundly. Having lockers inside the room was a huge plus for security and peace of mind. A really nice touch upon arrival was receiving shower gel, toilet paper, slippers, and a toothbrush – perfect when you're trying to pack light! What really stood out was their understanding of female travelers' needs. During an unexpected situation, I found myself without essential feminine hygiene products. I hesitantly asked a female staff member if they had any available for purchase or if she knew where I could get some nearby. To my immense relief and appreciation, she discreetly provided me with what I needed free of charge. Overall, I felt very safe, respected, and well taken care of here. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. I recommend this hostel highly enough to other women traveling alone.

Border Town International Youth Hostel Fenghuang Ancient City Bar Street Branch features accommodation in Fenghuang. I arrived close to midnight and was given a private room instead of a bunk bed in a dorm, probably to not disturb others sleeping. The staff also provided an extension cable with the appropriate socket for my charger. The location was truly excellent, in the midst of the old town but on a side street, so not nousy as it can be with bars and singing thru late evening.
