I had no real desire to go to Las Tunas, but after backpacking around Ecuador and Peru for a while, all of the favorite people I met on the road seemed to have the exact same recommendation: Go to Onda Hostel. So I texted the hostel owners on Whatsapp, where they proceeded to be somehow genuinely interested in answering my millions of questions over text before I arrived, arranging for transport, and even picking me up a massive guanabana just because I casually mentioned once I'd like to try it. The beds are comfortable, the A/C is cool, and the coffee is endless, but it's truly the people that make this place great. The owners are passionate about building a community and they instill that same stoke in their volunteers. If you're looking to stay in a place with some atmosphere, there is none greater in the Americas. I booked at this hostel for two days and stayed on for weeks, only leaving because I had to. To my new friends that I've made at Las Tunas - Thank you, and I'll be back soon!

Excellent staff everyone was so helpful..breakfast was.very nice..location was great and walking distance to market and beach...I will stay here again when I return..the pool was also lovely. Very nice place, beautiful spacious rooms, nice staff speaking English, parking on site, breakfast on beautiful terrace, everything was good! If you go out in the evening there are nice bars and restaurants not too far away, seem to be quite safe on sea side, in general nice town.

We had a private room with private bathroom. Host was very kind and helpful! 1 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to central Montanita. Slept well in our beds and fans helped us stay cool. Great place for a quieter stay!

Each room here has a fan and a private bathroom that comes with a shower. Breakfast was included in our stay and was very delicious. The owner of Casa Del Sol was awesome!! the Staff were amazing. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for an awesome place to stay and do yoga as well as surfing (it's a 2 sec walk to the surf break) then this is the place to stay :) will 100% be staying, there again on our next trip to Montanita.

Quiet, safe, close to beach, a few minutes walk from the Olon centro, beautiful and varied tropical garden that the rooms overlook, well-designed beach-vibe rooms, excellent hot-water, and well-stocked kitchen. Could hear the surf from my room.
