That first welcome already set the tone. I was so tired I decided to stay one more night, and Romy made it all super easy and stress-free. Honestly, it was the best price I could find within 150 km! The place itself felt like a home. Two of the sweetest dogs live there — gentle, friendly, and full of love. In the evening, Romy even offered me a cup of tea, which was exactly what I needed after the road. The next morning, I had to figure out how to send my bike back to Czechia — a challenge I didn’t quite know how to solve. Romy came to the rescue again: she offered to drive me to the post office with my bike in her car. That little trip turned into a mini adventure of its own — full of laughter and good vibes. Later that day, we ended up going out to a bar to hear a DJ friend of theirs play — the perfect, unexpected ending to a beautiful day. Romy, thank you again — and thank you to the whole team — for your kindness, generosity, and care. You made my stay not just comfortable, but truly memorable. You are amazing.

This gîte d’étape is an absolute hidden gem — a beautiful, spacious house dating back to the 1400s, lovingly maintained and full of authentic charm. The house itself is spotless and steeped in history, offering both comfort and character. Patrick, the host, is warm and welcoming. If you're interested, he's happy to share stories about the house and the region — his passion and hospitality really make the experience memorable. The homemade dinner and breakfast were delicious. After a long day of walking, it was the perfect place to rest and recharge in calm, natural surroundings. If you're looking for something more authentic than the often busy Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, this place is absolutely worth staying at.

She’ll tell you how she sprayed and sprinkled ‘star dust’ all by herself on the huge walls. If you want to stay in a 5 star hotel then don’t come here, but if you want to stay in a place more than that, a lived in home, a beautifully curated home, with friendly and kind hosts who are always there to guide you and make you comfortable, then Juliette’s Maison Mâje is the place. And look out for Cathy if she is around. I surely stay again.
