The hosts Petra and Christian Huber were employed for many years in a nearby Bavarian industrial city. With the guesthouse they fulfilled the long-cherished dream of a Bed and Breakfast on the Danube Cycle Path. With the furnishing experience from the many years leading a business for furniture and home accessories, the rooms could be stylishly furnished.
Many parts of the facility come from our own metal / blacksmith workshop. As far as there ist time for it, this and driftwood production continues. The frequent presence of grandchildren between the ages of two and four years is a particular pleasure.
The love of cycling tours and the associated practical insider knowledge can be passed on to the guest authentically. As a driver of a vintage motorbike, there are also recommendations here. In contrast to most blocked with car lines mountain ranges here on the doorstep still real driving pleasure on the well known in mountain biking trails of the Mühlviertel.

Bed and Breakfast on the right side Danube Bike Path 18 km to Passau. Ideal as a starting point for cyclists on the Danube Cycle Path, hikers on the Donausteig or real motorcycling in winding and traffic-poor Mühlviertel, southern Bohemian Forest or Sauwald.
The house is located about 300 m to the side of the campsite and marina Sportboothafen increased in a quiet secluded location on a slope with beautiful views to the 6 km distant power Jochenstein and the castle Vichtenstein.
The special feature of the house lies in the location and the elaborate living environment.
For relaxation there is a pool, a terrace with an unobstructed view of the Danube and the shipping traffic, as well as two extensive cataloged book collections.
The guest areas are the entire upper floor and lower ground floor, thus separated from the private area of the homeowners.
The pool and the sunbathing areas are not visible in pure southern exposure.

The district of Kasten is located on the right bank of the Danube in the backwater area of the Jochenstein hydroelectric power station directly on the Nibelungenstrasse. According to legend, the path of the Nibelungen led from the Rhine along the Danube to King Etzel to Hungary also along the right bank of the Danube from Passau to Engelhartszell. Visible historic eyewitnesses, however, are in the immediate vicinity of the excavation sites of the Roman fort in Oberranna (about 12 km down the Danube) and Schlögen (20 km down the Danube). Just above Kasten is the place Vichtenstein with the privately owned castle Vichtenstein. For hiking recommend the Donausteig routes in maps.
Nearby visiting destinations are the city of Passau and the monastery Engelszell. Day trips lead to the sights of the Lower Bavarian Forest, Mühlviertel and southern Bohemian Forest (Lipno Reservoir, Krumlov, etc.).
