When we came to Bundanoon the property had the name "Yallambee" - an aboriginal word meaning "Somewhere to gather and rest". We kept the name, as it is the most perfect description of both the house and the area. We have been here for nearly 20 years and love the area for the fresh air, brilliant night skies, the bush at our doorstep, the climate, the peaceful surroundings and the sense of community. We hope you will relax, explore and enjoy it as much as we do!
Bundanoon is the quiet, green and outdoorsey end of the Southern Highlands. We have walking trails to stunning lookouts, waterfalls and rivers within a few minutes walk (or drive) from our doorstep, hundreds of kilometres of mountain bike trails and single track through the nearby State Forests and National Park. In the Art deco Bundanoon village centre there is a vibrant cafe culture and retail precinct with quirky shops, fortnightly artisan and growers market in the Hall. For the active guest, there is croquet, tennis, bowls, a skate park for the kids (and big kids), a basketball court, netball court, swimming pool (open in summer) all in the sports precinct, and loads of town walking trails to explore. There is also 7 golf courses on the highland to drive the keen golfer crazy!
A short 5 minute drive will take you to the wineries of Sally Corner Rd where you can sample some of the wonderful cold climate wines of the area. A short drive from there and you are in the middle of the Highlands wine region with many more to sample, historic Berrima to explore, the retail mecca of Bowral and the rejuvinated Moss Vale high street for some surprising food and wine adventures.
