Perched atop a mountain in Tasmania's Southern Midlands, Huntingdon Tier Forest Retreat's off-grid converted schoolbus is a place to escape, relax, disconnect & reconnect.
In its perfectly private forest location guests can soak in the woodfired hot tub or lounge by a warm fire indoors and quietly observe the wildlife through the many windows.
From your comfortable bed, gaze out the window at the native forest below and – past the treetops – the mountains across the valley. There is also a natural meditation cave located just 30 metres below the bus.
The large outdoor hot tub – heated by a wood fire – takes a few hours to heat to temperature, however we'll happily light the fire prior to your arrival to give the process a good head start. Once heated the water stays toasty warm for many hours.
The bus includes a simple but well-equipped kitchen, full spacious bathroom, lounge, dining area and queen-sized bed.
Single night stays are always welcomed, however the most common feedback is that guests wish they had have stayed longer!
With a self check in experience, we don’t typically meet or interact with guests. However, if you need anything during your stay we live just up the hill and are more than happy to assist as required.
Huntingdon Tier Forest Retreat is located at the top of a mountain overlooking valley farmland and mountains in the distance. The property is located approximately 6km off the National Highway 1 in the Southern Midlands region at Dysart.
