Ideal for large groups or families that want an unforgettable wilderness experience, this secluded retreat provides an enchanting sanctuary within a short drive of Hobart and the surrounding area’s attractions.
Exuding relaxed country style with exposed brick walls, soaring timber beams and giant spreads of glass capturing leafy outlooks, this cabin-like home features a spacious living area with two three-seater lounges and a central TV. Adjacent is a second seating area, centred around a wood-burning fireplace. The timber-clad kitchen offers ample bench space, stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped for your holiday catering. Dine inside by the warmth of the fire or head outside to soak up the sunshine alfresco style—with a BBQ and fire pit catering to summer cook-ups. Slow mornings are best enjoyed in relishing the bushland views from the sunroom’s wall-to-wall windows. Heated hydronic flooring throughout ensures it's snug and cosy all year round.
Upstairs you’ll find a lofted study area, equipped with a desk, monitor and keyboard to spark productivity. The primary bedroom is also on this level—set with a queen and single bed, plus ensuite—with dreamy views over the bushland to the bay and mountains beyond. Downstairs you’ll find three more bedrooms, one with a queen, another with a double and the fourth with a bunk bed including a single on top, a double on bottom and plenty of children’s toys. The main bathroom can also be found downstairs, offering both a shower and bath plus double vanities.
Additional features include a laundry with washer, slate flooring on the entry-level and timber flooring upstairs, a cubby house and off-street parking.

Only 20 minutes along the Channel Highway from the Hobart CBD, seven minutes from Kingston Beach and 15 minutes to the ferry at Kettering to Bruny Island, the location is central to all of the attractions with a few local surprises thrown in as well.
The town is built by a sheltered bay with the Derwent River meets the Southern Ocean and offers your basic shopping needs and a few restaurants and takeaways, but the rear draw card is The Margate Train. A 1950’s steam train that’s carriages have been converted into a trendy retail outlet with arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, a microbrewery and a buffet car offering espresso coffee and pancake parlour. There’s also a huge antique warehouse and second-hand shop there, located in an old IXL apple packing shed, as well as a children's play area, toilets, baby change facility and plenty of car parking.
The renowned Brookfield Markets are only a few minutes’ drive away. Located in the beautiful grounds of the Brookfield Shed, they’re open every Saturday between 10am and 2pm and offer crafts, clothing, plants and garden ware as well as brekky and lunch.
The Inverawe Native Gardens and Nandroya Winery are located close by to the town, and it’s also within close proximity of numerous wilderness hiking trails.
Day trips to Hobart are super easy, there’s plenty of free parking around the city. Kingston Beach is cruisy little seaside town just up the road and is worth the trip for major shopping, seaside eateries and a walk on the beach.
