Ironbark House is situated on the ridgeline gazing out across the wilderness for over 60kms towards Mt Mulligan Station
This totally off-grid 1345 acre property, which has its own solar power generation system and harvests all its own water, is located on the outskirts of the Atherton Tablelands in the farming district of Dimbulah which is the beginning of the outback on route to Mt Mulligan and Chillagoe.
Just constructed, Ironbark House has two large bedrooms both with spacious ensuites, separated by a welcoming kitchen/dining/living area with a generous verandah over looking the most amazing vista for luxurious al-fresco dining and entertaining.
The raked ceilings add to the sense of light, freedom and spaciousness that this modern Australian bush retreat has in abundance.
This completely private 1345 acre working cattle property co-exists with a mix of wildlife habitat, with a healthy bird population of well over 100 different species found on the property, as well as it’s own colony of rock wallabies and 6 dams.
A network of over 25 kms of trails cover the entire property accessible by a variety of means 4X4, horseback, mountain bike or of course by walking.
We purchased this property 11 years ago after Rachael did a little work on a cattle property out past Chillagoe and fell in love with ‘the outback’ type terrain. Having both spent many years working in the Port Douglas area, Kevin as a Rainforest Guide and Rachael in hospitality we decided to move to Ironbark Farm permanently 5 years ago, pursuing our love of nature, wildlife, a farming lifestyle and for Rachael, an amazing place for horse riding. Now we get to share our amazing lifestyle with you the adventurous traveller.
Ride the Outback! We offer exclusive private horse riding on property. Maximum 3 guests per ride on well-schooled horses. This is not your usual trail ride. 1 to 3 hour rides available. We also offer guided wildlife, birding and farm tours with Kevin, a guide of over 20 years experience. Please contact us directly for more information and bookings about these activities
If, after exploring the property, watching wildlife or just lazing with a book you need more to do…. in the surrounding area you will find a wealth of activities, each one accessible as a day excursion…..
