Hi I am a 61 yo mother of three and doting nana to Henry. I have two friendly Jack Russles who always enjoy the guests and vice versea. I am a Cancer Survivorship Advocate and Pulished author of Chemobrain. I love hosting my guests as my father was a health inspector and my mother a publican. I have been making beds and cooking from a young age. I had to retire from my work as a payroll expert for the mining industry due to permanent cognitive damage from cancer treatment in 2012. My favourite thing to do is bake fresh bread when I get a chance. I also love to cook for Henry and my family. Even tho he’s only 2 he’s a big eater and his favourite food lately is nanas beef and barley soup and Zuc Slice (Zucchini Slice). His other really big favourite is 7 minute mushroom risotto. I love home life and snuggling up on the couch with the dogs in from of the gas flame heater with my ear phones on. Getting old and a bit deaf makes it easy to hear the detail. 😄
The most exciting and precious landmark to me is the Wild Geese Monument along the foreshore which tells the story of the most daring jail break of the six Irish Finians in Fremantle Jail in 1874. It was made possible by previous escaped Finians from America and the most amazing story you will ever hear, now in a book called the Catalpa Rescue written by Peter Fitzsimmons. I have read this book twice, having ancestors in the town of Tullow in County Carlow, Ireland. The book was launched in Rockingham a few years ago by Peter with the Premier attending the Clipper Inn Event.
