The Cairns Esplanade is the jewel in the Cairns crown. It is very popular with locals for walking, jogging, cycle pathway, exercise equipment at various locations along the length of grassy, well-maintained lawns . The expansive parks and gardens are beautiful. There is a concrete pathway along the beach and is a must for walking. Just across the road is Munro Martin Parklands and only 6 minutes walk on the Esplanade is a terrific water playground and jungle play area for kids. The southern end of the Esplanade has many bars and restaurants to choose from, as well as a world-class casino with restaurants (and is adjacent to the main shopping area).
