Absolute Beachfront. The Somerton Beach Retreat is a completely refurbished one-bedroom unit. Enjoy beautiful unimpeded sea views from the living area and the bedroom, and glorious west-facing pastel sunsets. Somerton Beach is the Adelaide’s premier beach on the famed millionaires' Golden Mile. Crystal clear water for swimming, teeming with life including dolphins and whiting. Eateries in walking distance include the Somerton Surf Club café and bar, and Inc cafe.
The kitchen is well-appointed with fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and gas cooktop. Basics including tea/coffee/sugar/pepper/salt/cooking oil are provided, with crockery, cutlery and so on (please wash dishes). It is designed for two adults, but the dining table extends and includes extra chairs for guests. Please do not move the table as it scratches the parquetry floor.

This apartment has two car park allocations. One at the back wall, the northern extreme, and the other up to the dirt strip by the staircase. Here there are spaces for two cars, ours is the northern space. Failing this, street parking is ample.
The bed is made-up with a quilt (doona). Extra blankets (one light, one heavier) are in the bedroom chest of drawers. If the quilt be too hot for summer, use the spare quilt cover (having the thickness of 2 sheets), also located in the drawers. Four pillows are provided, soft and medium firm. Aircon remote control in top drawer of chest of drawers. Pls turn off when not at the property. In bedroom wardrobe - iron. In the chest of drawers - spare blanket and beach toys. For the front lawn dining table, use the plastic chairs located by the back door. Plastic wine glasses for the beach. Hair dryer in bathroom vanity. Kitchen drawers - cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, platters etc. glasses, pepper and salt, oil. Please wash and dry dishes before you leave. If only a few dishes used, hand wash. Otherwise, dishwasher. Dishwashing liquid and tablet in lower cupboard.
Somerton Park is a quiet suburb with many retirees. Locals are friendly, but tend to keep to themselves.
Getting around: Bus 265 is 600m east (King George Avenue by the bowling club) - an easy 7 minute walk. It heads East to the city (38 minutes) via Glenelg (6 minutes) and south to Marion's Westingfield Shopping Centre. Also Bus 263 on Brighton Road, a 12 minute walk. Walk north to Glenelg Jetty precinct in 30 minutes or south to Brighton Jetty precinct also 30 minutes. Great walking on the beach and the esplanade. Check out new coastal path from nearby Somerton Surf Club. Tennis courts at Brighton Secondary College.
