The Anchorage Waterfront Retreat is located on the bank of the iconic Huon River between Castle Forbes Bay and Port Huon in the beautiful Huon Valley. With no road between the Anchorage and the river we are the only accommodation in the region with direct access to the riverfront and a jetty. You will have stunning panoramic views of the Huon River and to the north is the Wellington Range.
The Anchorage provides fully self-contained deluxe accommodation with everything you need. The upstairs area features open plan living and dining, a fully equipped kitchen with pantry staples and coffee pod machine, spacious master bedroom, bathroom and laundry.
For 2 couples or family with children over 5, the second bedroom and bathroom is downstairs and overlooks the pool and the Huon River.
Bedroom 1 and 2 both have king size beds. For children under 5 a cot or rollaway bed will be made available in the parents master bedroom.
For a party of 2 single guests requiring the use of two bedrooms, please book for 3 guests for the second bedroom to be made available.
A 25% deposit is required at time of booking to guarantee your reservation.
The balance of payment is due 30 days prior to arrival.
For cancellations made more than 30 days in advance, is a full refund (less merchant fees) is available.
The Anchorage Retreat has a private entrance separate from the owners adjoining residence and your privacy is assured.
You can take a dip in the solar heated pool and relax in the sauna. You can wander down to the water's edge and be enchanted by the surrounding views. You may also spot dolphins and seals venturing to this area of the river.
The tranquillity of the Huon River can be enjoyed at any time of the year and the Anchorage offers a unique opportunity to stay in total comfort right on the river's edge surrounded by nature in the beautiful Huon Valley.
The Huon Valley has a varied history, mining, forestry, orchards, and aquaculture have been developed and some have survived however the natural beauty of the area is the main attraction with Tahune Airwalk, Hastings Caves and thermal pool, Hartz Mountain walking trails and the road to the bottom of Australia at Cockle Creek, all of which offer interesting day trips. Cafes and restaurants offering fresh produce served to a gourmet standard, fine wineries with award winning cool climate Pinot, sail the Huon River, learn how rare Tasmanian timbers such as Huon Pine and King Billy Pine are turned into boats the the Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin and much more.
