The Blue House Yungaburra is situated in a quiet street in the heart of the picturesque village of Yungaburra. The Blue House is an original, renovated Queenslander Cottage from the 1930s. It has been renovated and updated in 2006, preserving many of its original features. It is a cosy and comfortable house ideal for a couple, group of friends or families. A covered deck out the back with a Webber BBQ invites you to relax. We welcome children and even have a toy corner for the little ones.
It is in walking distance to all the restaurants and shops of Yungaburra.
The Blue House may not be equipped with all the mod cons, but provides guests with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay for a couple of days or a few weeks. In particular, there is no WiFi, no dishwasher, and no oven (Webber BBQ can be used for a roast). There is no air con, but the house has fans and is very airy to let the naturally air-conditioned Tablelands' brise in. A gas heater is available in the sitting area for cool nights and mornings in winter. It has one small bathroom with the toilet inside.
We are a family who has lived on the Tablelands since 2005. We love the lifestyle and environment of the Tablelands and have a 40 acre property bordering Yungaburra where we run a small B&B.
The Blue House Yungaburra is central to all Atherton Tablelands' attractions and offers the ideal place from which to discover paradise! Destinations include: the Curtain Fig Tree, the Crater Lakes Eacham and Barrine, Lake Tinaroo, the Herberton Historic Village, bushwalking trails, towns full of history, waterfalls, even the rainforest village of Kuranda is an easy day trip from Yungaburra. During summer, the more temperate climate of the Atherton Tablelands provides a welcome relief from the heat and humidity of the coast.
The Peterson Creek walking track is just 50m walk from the Blue House. Nice for a morning or afternoon walk and you may be lucky to spot a Platypus or a Tree Kangaroo on your way.
