Meet Kelvin, Your Host
Born in St. Michael, Barbados, Kelvin spent his early years in the Bayland, attending Bay Primary School until age 10. In 1971, life took an adventurous turn when Kelvin and his younger brother Ian flew on a BOAC Trident Jet to join their mother in Chiswick, West London. The transition was marked by England’s chilly climate, and soon after, the family moved to Feltham in Middlesex, where Kelvin completed secondary school. Kelvin’s career journey began as a 5-year Apprentice Trainee Electronic Wireman, attending Kingston College of Further Education in Surrey. Here, he excelled, earning two City & Guilds of London Institute Certificates with distinction. However, at age 21, he pivoted to retail, quickly rising to management, where he received professional training in the psychology of leadership, and it was here he met his future wife. His quest for knowledge and passion for understanding human behavior led him into Direct Sales, where he learned the art of "why people do the things they do." This path steered him into Mortgage Sales, igniting a passion for Architectural Design and Real Estate.
Now a widower and proud grandfather, Kelvin has a deep love for the creative arts. His travels have taken him across the UK & Ireland, Western Europe, the Americas, and parts of the Middle East. Returning to Barbados eight years ago, he’s embraced his roots while embodying the open-mindedness that comes from a life of adventure. Kelvin’s life philosophy is simple yet profound: "Laughter at every opportunity and never take life or self too seriously." This ethos is reflected in his endearing and occasionally irrational support for his favourite football team, Queens Park Rangers. As a self-proclaimed closet glory hunter, he also enjoys following whichever team is at the top of their game!
With a focused work ethic and a passion for engaging conversations, Kelvin can often be found relaxing with a rum /beer (or five) while enjoying stimulating discussions.
Breezy Vista on the Terrace Nestled on a terrace approximately 250 feet above sea level, Breezy Vista fully lives up to its name. Stretching from east to west, the property enjoys a constant refreshing breeze, perfect for keeping guests cool and relaxed. While it’s just 1.6 miles from the beachfronts at Alleyne, Reeds, and Thunder Bays, it might not suit those who crave the convenience of rolling out of bed straight onto the sand. Instead, it caters to those who appreciate a serene retreat with easy access to the coast. The surrounding arears of Water Hall, St. Silas, Deanes, Apes Hill, and Royal Westmoreland are known as "middle to upper income" communities that combines yoga enthusiasts and creative souls with a few doctors, attorneys, and politicians. Despite their refined ambiance, these areas retain old-fashioned values of neighbourly care, ensuring guests a warm welcome, a sense of security, and the signature Barbadian quality of friendliness.
Convenience at Your Fingertips; Just a 5-minute walk downhill to the crossroads, you’ll find Ottie’s corner shop, where late-night snacks, beers, and spirits are readily available. Nearby, two other convenience stores offer everything from forgotten cooking essentials to bicycle tires and even cement!
By car, Breezy Vista is only 7 to 10 minutes (or a 30-minute walk) to the bustling west coast of Barbados. Highlights include:
• Fine Dining: Tides, Lone Star and Peper Pot restaurants.
• Historic and Cultural Sites: Lancaster Great House, Harrison's Cave & Adventure Park, and St. Nicholas Abbey Rum Distillery.
• Luxury and Leisure: Sandy Lane Hotel and beach, Apes Hill and Westmoreland Golf Courses.
• Shopping and Essentials: Holetown Massy Supermarket and local stores.
