My name is Mauricio Cruz Brenes. I have been surfing for over 20 years and teaching surf lessons for over 10 years. I am Costa Rican. I grew up in the city but once I caught my first wave I knew the beach was where my life would be. I have a passion for surf that keeps me going back for more everyday and I love sharing this passion through teaching and coaching. I am bilingual, (English & Spanish) and certified by the International Surf Association. Sharing my knowledge about surfing, how to read the waves and being safe in the water is all part of a surf adventure with me. I'll also let you in on where to find local great eats and where to seek adventure. I provide a professional service and because of that I have maintained long standing relationships with highly recognized hotels in the area such as Flor Blanca, Lattitude 10 and Casa Chameleon. My goals as an instructor are to assist anyone, children aged 5 to adults of 95 years to learn, improve, connect with the ocean and have fun pushing their limits. I will help you to create a strong base in surfing if you are a beginner that will point you in the right direction to help you achieve your goals.
