Spacious apartment idyllically situated in close proximity to the Weser river with spectacular views. This is a unique and tranquil place where you can unwind and relax.
We have taken great care in choosing quality interior fixture and fittings for your comfort, with a style mix combining old and new. In the bedroom we have have built in plenty of cupboard space and selected a wooden bed that is completely free of metal. The Ravensberger mattresses are out of natural latex and the majority of the bed linen is out of hemp for sustainability reasons. The bedside lights are flexible, because we are always unhappy when we stay somewhere where a good reading light is not provided for. In the bathroom we have installed adjustable LED lighting. On the roof terrace we have plant containers which also have seasonal herbs for our guests to enjoy.
Our aim as hosts is for you to thoroughly enjoy your accommodation experience with us in the laid back atmosphere of our home - our little piece of northern German paradise.
We believe in happy guests who return or recommend us!
I am a designer who is passionate about her work and whose vision it is, to make a contribution to making the world a more beautiful place! Nature and sustainability play a big role in my life and are reflected in the interior and exterior of our accommodation.
I have actively played tennis since my childhood, and enjoy many other creative activities such as painting and upcycling of old furniture. Developing my garden is a further hobby that enables me to unwind and relax..
Copper beech place has been a project over 10 years, the namegiver is the magnificent copper beech tree that stands on the driveway which never ceases to amaze me with it‘s changing seasonal colour palette from early spring to autumn. I am convinced that our guests will also discover much pleasure in the idyllic location of our home with the splendid views of the river and the fields beyond.
I look forward to heartily welcoming you as our guest in the Schwedenschanze.
Our neighbourhood is blessed with a large stock of old trees. These linden, beech, oak, chestnut and pine trees provide us with welcome shade on hot summer days and are home to the large bird and squirrel population in our garden and down on the hillside below.
In direct proximity is the Hünenburg Estate with ist ramparts, belonging to the Robert Krämer Trust. A popular location for civil wedding ceremonies, catering not only for businesses, with conference facilities but also for cultural events such as art exhibtions for example.
The Aller Cycle Route bicycle path runs directly below our property along the river. A walk or bicycle ride in the direction of the Uesen bridge leads to the harbour and the Hotel Bootshaus. A perfect location to enjoy a meal with a direct view of the Weser and boats below. An alternative on the other side of the river (cross the bridge & take the first road to the left), is the Fährhaus am Streek which is situated next to a small beach on the Weser river.
In the opposite direction, continuing along the Weser towards Verden and then branching off along an arm of the river Aller, this route leads to the castle Etelsen. The castle is a further location in our region that professionally hosts events: conferences, weddings and cultural highlights such as a classical concert series that takes place. In summer outdoor yoga classes are offered by trained instructors on a regular basis and in June a garden festival is held. Adjacent to the castle is the Hof Beckröge which organises an annual Advent/ market which is popular amongst the local residents and has a typically cosy German winter „Christmas in the countryside“ atmosphere.
The local farmers weekly market is one of the local city highlights in the pedestrian zone on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is popular for sourcing fresh produce and is usually a very lively happening that many citizens faithfully take advantage of.
