I bought this unique Bed&Breakfast from my friend, Mechthild White in 2020. I watched and accompanied her process of renovation and marketing. We both share the love for living in foreign countries. I added my own collection of interesting things to the style of the house Mechthild created.
I am graphic designer and I love painting. You can see my own paintings on the walls, mostly motives of monschau. I have already sold several pictures to my guests.
I speak English and German fluently and also French.

The house is 300 years old and has a very unique character. Like many old houses it has steep stairs, low doors and its decoration tells many stories of living several years abroad.
There are four rooms on the first and second floor to rent, each has a modern bathroom. On the third floor you can rent a comfortable appartement for max. four people. This appartement is suitable for families or a group of friends. It has a tea-kitchen and one bathroom.
On the first floor there is a terrace, which can be used by guests, here smoking is allowed. Your breakfast I serve on the ground floor in the guest lounge, which can also be used over day and in the evenings. Here is an assortment of games, music (CD-Player) and books to sweeten your time. There are are tea and coffee making facilities, which can be used any time. Cold drinks are also available.

Monschau is an old heritage-protected town, where most houses are easily 200 years old. There are lots of restaurants and cafes, quaint little shops, several museums and a craft market. My house is situated right in the middle of the old town in a quiet side street under the castle. The main street can be reached in 2 minutes via stairs. Monschau is situated at the northern end of the Eifel National Park. Here you find lots of hiking from short and easy to several days. The Eifelsteig goes right past my house. There is also a biking trail on an old rail track nearby, as is the Hohes Venn, a beautiful moor and forest area just 10 minutes from here in Belgium. Also not far is the Rursee, one of the biggest hydro lakes in Germany. Here you can hike, go by boat, swim and kayak. All in all a beautiful area in Germany and the closeness to Belgium and The Netherlands make it culturally even more attractive.
