The partly original and natural wooden floors create a homely atmosphere and provide an insight into the history of this listed house. On the ground floor you can see the original, supporting oak beams from 1699, which exude a special dignity.
The modern furnishings include classics from Catallani & Smith, USM, Loberon and Riviera Maison, among others. Music can be streamed via the Bose Soundtouch. In the kitchen you will find equipment from Le Creuset and Laguiole, Ittala, DuTZ, Artemide, etc. If you get thirsty, there is a JURA fully automatic coffee machine available in the kitchen, as well as a water soda maker from Aarke.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including a microwave, cooking pots, frying pans, (wine) glasses, bottle openers, etc. There are two beautifully furnished bedrooms; one of which has its own Nespresso machine for your first coffee in the morning. A large wardrobe is available for the cloakroom (3m wide, 2m high).

So many generations before us have lived in the house - in this tradition we wish you a great stay in this living monument!
We are Carolin & Jasper. We lived in the house, which is now a holiday home, for some time before moving away for work reasons. The house has been lovingly renovated and furnished accordingly.
Who doesn't love the film "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Kate Winslet? We watched the 2006 film countless times in our sweet cottage, which is why we named it after it.
In 1699 the needs, building materials and floor plans were different than today. Today a bathroom would certainly be built much larger, and the kitchen also has a different significance today compared to over 320 years ago. We invite you to put yourself in the shoes of the people of the 17th century. The Siegbach area was characterized by hard work in the ore mines or in the fields. Living in a sturdy half-timbered house, protected from wind and weather, was something special - how proud must the owners have been? And who would have thought that the house would last through the centuries? We therefore lovingly renovated the house in 2021 and 2022, so that in 2022 it was awarded the monument plaque by the state of Hesse, which you can discover outside the house.
We have been certified as a Travel Proud partner at Booking since 2023, also with the highest sustainability level 3. We have received “Superhost” status from Airbnb. The German Tourism Association has classified our holiday home as “First Class” with 4 stars from 2024.
Best regards,
Carolin & Jasper
Siegbach is a small town with a doctor, a dentist, a supermarket, an ATM, a snack restaurant, a natural swimming pool and the beautiful Lahn-Dill mountains in front of the door.
The idyllic Siegbach creek runs along the property.
