With a history dating back to 1715, this house has a truly special atmosphere.
It is only available for rent a few weeks each year, so you’ll have to be lucky to get the chance.
The house features a new thatched roof from 2020, during which it was also brought up to modern standards.
With a spacious 2,000 m² plot, there’s plenty of room outdoors. The garden includes several terraces—one of them a newly built wooden deck—and a swing set for children. The rest of the garden is perfect for exploring – a true fairytale garden.
Located high in the Toftum Bjerge hills, the house and property offer views of Venø and the Klosterheden forest.
Toftum Bjerge lies between Struer and Lemvig and is known for its high glacial cliffs that drop down to a beach awarded the EU Blue Flag for water quality.
From Toftum Bjerge, it’s about 30 km to Harboøre and the west coast, which is well worth a visit.
When you arrive at the house via the large driveway, you step into a dining room with a unique atmosphere and beautiful natural light. From here, you enter the well-equipped kitchen, which connects to the bathroom. The kitchen opens into the living room, where a staircase leads up to a loft with a large double bed. There’s also a small, cozy bedroom accessible from the living room.
Across the terrace, you'll find the final bedroom, along with the entrance to a laundry room and a sauna.
Here, you can reconnect with your soul – surrounded by charm, warmth, and a personal touch in the decor.
The house has many stories to tell. For example, it was used by members of the Danish resistance during World War II to store weapons—though nowadays, you’ll only find toys and decorative items.
I don’t rent out my house professionally, as I want to ensure you have a truly good experience.
I clean the house myself between each stay, so I can personally guarantee that everything is just as it should be.
I try to go the extra mile to make sure you have the best possible holiday.
The area features coastal cliffs reaching heights of up to 40 meters and stretching about 2 kilometers along the shoreline.
Toftum Bjerge is a nationally recognized geological area of interest. The entire region is designated protected nature, with parts under conservation orders. Some beach areas are part of Natura 2000 habitat and bird protection zones. The site includes good visitor facilities such as parking, walking trails, picnic tables, benches, and a staircase leading to the beach.
Humlum is just next door – there are walking paths leading down to the local grocery store, which is well-stocked and offers great deals.
You can also grab a pizza from Humlum’s very own pizza man.
With short distances to the west coast, Lemvig, and Struer, there’s plenty to explore.
If you’re in the mood for something other than water and shopping, Jesperhus Flower Park is about 60 km away and well worth a visit.
Welcome to a truly special area.
