ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION
Toftegården is a typical Danish farmhouse from 1937, located in the center of Skagen. The city's largest shopping and restaurant street, the harbour, the beach, Skagen's Museum and the train station are within 10 minutes' walking distance from Toftegården. "Grenen" is within walking or cycling distance.
The farm is today privately owned and offers year-round rental of holiday apartments and guest rooms with self-service and self-catering. The farm consists of several buildings with different apartment/room types and outhouses. There is room for 28+(5) guests. There is also a meeting/party room which is suitable for smaller gatherings or parties. As a guest, you also have access to the farm's fitness and farm shop, as well as bicycle rental all provided through an external supplier.
We have chosen to make the holiday apartments/guest rooms cozy and homely in classic Skagen style with modern paintings on the walls, so you feel comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen and private/shared bathroom in all homes. Danish breakfast can be selected from an external supplier and is served in the old stable building on the farm.
On the farm there is a large cozy enclosed courtyard with garden furniture, which provides space for both peace and being social in beautiful surroundings with rose beds and a small fountain, and in addition there is a section with sunbeds where you can relax and lie down without being disturbed.
There is free wi-fi and parking. We have a gas grill. Bed linen and towels are included in the rental.
Extra added: Modern living in typical Skagen style, self-service and own household which provides low prices, free parking, free WiFi, free fitness, minishop, bicycle rental, Danish breakfast buffet (optional), Chromecast on all TVs, tourist guide folder, free e-postcards, environmental policy 'Green Stay', quiet accommodation, good beds.
According to our guests' independent reviews, Toftegården is their favorite holiday home in Skagen.
ABOUT THE HOST
For many years I have worked within the healthcare system, but also with my own business in Sweden and Denmark. After selling my last company to Falck, for a few years I worked as the Nordic business manager for their healthcare departments, after that I continued as business manager for SOS International Health Care Sweden.
Today I have retired and enjoy the free life. However, not completely, as I have always loved Skagen and as a person am inspired by new ideas and projects, I therefore bought Toftegården in Skagen in 2010. My goal with the purchase was to build up a year-round rental site of holiday apartments and guest rooms with a high standard and quality in cozy and homely classic Skagen style. Furthermore, create added value for the guests, low rental prices, self-service and self-catering, environmental thinking and happy and satisfied guests.
The response to that concept has been very positive from our guests. Today, for example, Toftegården is described by those who have visited us as: "A beautiful and cozy rental place in the middle of Skagen, with holiday apartments and guest rooms of a high standard/quality and at a price that matches the concept of self-service and self-catering (8.9 points out of 10 )".
Other about me: Hobbies and interests are health, music, enjoying life, cars/motorcycles, traveling and spending time with my two lovely adult sons and their families when they have time of course.
ABOUT THE AREA
Toftegården is centrally located in the middle of Skagen, only 7-10 minutes walking distance to the city center. The location is perfect for those who want to be close to the urban environment, where you can shop, eat fish in the cozy harbor environment or have fun in the evening with good music and dancing. And where you can still sleep in a quiet environment at night, since in the high season there can be quite a bit of noise in the night hours in the centre. At Toftegården, there must also be quiet after 11 p.m. for the sake of other guests.
Toftegården is only 800 meters from Anchers Hus, which, like the farm, is on Markvej, and the distance to Skagens Museum is only 1,000 meters. From Toftegården you can also choose to go for a walk out to "Grenen" - a walk of almost four kilometers each way, if you want to go all the way to the tip, where the two seas meet.
