This beautiful quiet place has two villa's or domehouses. The main (private) house and the small house we call The studio. You can rent the studio including the garden and the roofterrace of the studio with sunbeds and jacuzzi. It is a perfect place to rest after a day of sightseeing all the ancient history of the Westbank of Luxor. There is a fully equipped kitchen, but you can also order any meal you like. We have called our guesthouse Nut, after the goddess. Nut, in Egyptian religion, is a goddess of the sky, vault of the heavens, often depicted as a woman arched over the earth god Geb. Most cultures of regions where there is rain, personify the sky as masculine. The rain being the seed which fertilizes Mother Earth. In Egypt, however, rain plays no role; all the usefull water is on the earth from the Nile river. Egyptian religion is unique in the genders of its deities of earth and sky. Nut was one of the most ancient among Egyptian gods and goddesses. She was the sister and wife of Geb (god of the earth), and was the mother of some of the most important deities in the pantheon of ancient Egypt such as Osiris, Isis, Haroeris, Nephthys, and Set. As the goddess of the sky, Nut swallowed the sun in the evening and gave birth to it again in the morning. With her body she is protecting us, like we hope she will protect you when staying in the guesthouse.
We are a Dutch couple who spend the wintertime in Egypt. The rest of the year we share are beautiful house with others, to enjoy the place as much as we do. Our great host Emad (see picture), a former guide, is born here and knows everything there is to know about Luxor. He makes your stay as pleasant as can be, and speaks English well. Don't hesitate to ask him anything you like, to make your stay even better.
A nice quit neighbourhood at the West Bank. Near Habu Temple and Isis temple, with a beautiful view on the mountains and Queens Valley. A perfect place to rest after a full day of sightseeing and exploring everything Luxor has to offer. There are a small coffeeshop, supermarket and greengrocer nearby. To the east you look over green fields, and you can reach the Nile river nearby, with great restaurants and a pleasant atmosphere. To the west you walk right into the desert.
