Welcome to Casa Bonita, a stunning, recently refurbished semi detached house spread over 2 floors with private pool, incredible mountain and sea views and just 15 minutes drive to the award winning Maspalomas beach. The Space Downstairs is the main accommodation, a tastefully decorated, modern yet quirky, 2 bedroom ground floor apartment with two double bedrooms, one with walk-in dresser and office space. It has a large marbled master bathroom and modern kitchen/diner with TV/gaming area and fold out double sofa bed if you require extra space for sleeping. It’s fronted by a private courtyard with external dining table and sun shade, plus parking area with ping-pong table, dart board and adjacent laundry room, perfect for storing all the beach equipment on offer. On the way upstairs you’ll find the dedicated and well lit BBQ area, then on up to the gorgeous private pool with terrace and sunbathing zone enjoying all-day sun, dining and chillout areas plus an extra bathroom and all with incredible sea & mountain views. Casa Bonita has many extras: modern air conditioning throughout, ceiling fans in every room, high speed wifi across the whole space via multiple wifi access points connected to high speed fibre, games for the kids, inflatables, beach equipment; snorkelling masks, boogie boards, buckets and spades, sun umbrellas etc. It has an HD TV with all sports and cable/satellite channels plus series and movies on demand, and Netflix, Amazon Prime and also a PS4 with controllers and games, even a portable speaker for you to use. If your party is larger than 5 please see our other listing which sleeps up to 8 and includes an extra rooftop bedroom and bathroom plus access to a larger part of the upstairs terrace.
We are Aga and Andy, a Polish/English couple and we live in the house next door to Casa Bonita, Casa Alfredo - both houses have been named after dogs we’ve had. We care for Andy’s disabled mum who lives with us and we recently welcomed 2 new arrivals to the household. Pink and Floyd are brother and sister ‘Ratonero Palmero’ puppies. They’re currently 10 weeks old and super cute! We have lived here on the Island for 15 years between us so we know our way around. We speak good Spanish and we’re on hand to help you get the most from your stay. We understand that everyone has different needs and expectations. To that end, we offer to meet you in person or provide you with access to the key lock so you can let yourself in, whatever you prefer. We love good food and local experiences and can offer recommendations for places to eat and visit that you might not find on your own. We can also recommend select excursions from our trusted partners. We only offer the best experiences so our selection isn’t huge but we’re confident recommending as we know the operators and have tried the excursions. We also both come from professional hospitality backgrounds and can offer some extra services. Fancy a Paella? We can cook it from scratch in front of you and serve it straight up, pairing it with a wine selection if required, or even teach you how to cook it yourself! Want a local or Spanish wine tasting evening? Aga is a skilled sommelier, specialising in Spain and the Canaries and has access to wines you just can’t find in the supermarket. As mentioned, we live next door and we do share a small part of the property with you, the main gate and secure parking area. We both have cars but we park on the quiet street outside where there are no restrictions, leaving the parking free for you to either park your cars or use as an extra games area for darts and ping pong. Our goal is that you are as comfortable as possible so please don't hesitate to ask us for anything you might need.
Casa Bonita is nestled in Calderin, a quiet zone of the Maspalomas valley which is a wide open and relatively flat area of the south with open vistas up to the mountains behind and the sea in front. It’s just 5 minutes drive to the closest town, El Tablero with it's 7 day a week shopping centre and selection of restaurants supermarkets and shops. 15 minutes drive gets you to the beach and sand dunes of Maspalomas, only 10 minutes drive to the resort of Meloneras or Holiday world and Playa Del Ingles just 5 minutes further on. Despite being close enough to everything, we're off the beaten track and the area is totally private, quiet and peaceful. To get the most from your stay we recommend hiring a car to help you get around. Calderin is a rural hamlet and was originally farm land with many tomato farms and banana plantations remaining. Los Tabaibales is the closest restaurant, just 1km from the house and is a great local grill with live Canarian folk music on Thursdays. We also have a super local bar/restaurant in El Salobre, Bar de los Vecinos Santa Margarita (open to the public Thursday through Sunday) a great place for cheap tapas, great fresh local food. The neighbourhood is safe and peaceful and for extra security we have a ‘Ring’ doorbell and another Ring camera monitoring the main entrance and parking area (no cameras in other guest areas). We do have multiple water sources close by so recommend using mosquito repellent (provided) when outside in the evenings.
