This townhouse is built in a traditional Catalan style with large wooden beams and arched tiles between, thereby retaining a lot of its original charm. The rooms are typically located towards the rear of the house and painted white throughout to keep it cool. There are wooden shutters on several of the windows. It has however been renovated over the years to add a roof terrace, with views of the village church and the Cardo mountains, where you can sit and relax, and enjoy watching the swallows and house martins flying overhead. There is also a modern kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, extractor fan and induction hob. The house has air-conditioning on the top floor providing both heating and cooling facilities, while the other bedrooms have small electric heaters and fans. With the addition of a log burner in the dining/living area, this house can be used all year round. The location enables the guests to experience being right in the heart of village life.
Guests will be met on arrival by one of the hosts and shown around the property to make sure that they are happy with everything. There is free wifi broadband and a TV with connection to the internet via Amazon Fire TV Stick so that you can enjoy your Netflix or other subscription accounts.

We moved here to Ginestar in 2021, with our two young children, who now both attend the village school. We live just over the road in our newly renovated townhouse and so are easily on hand for our guests if needed, and to provide tips on day trips and activities in the local area. We have truly fallen in love with all this beautiful area has to offer and regularly enjoy hiking in the local mountains (and further afield) or spending time at the coast at some of the area's numerous wonderful beaches. We are delighted to have taken over this charming townhouse, which had been closed since the pandemic, and now look forward to sharing this beautiful part of Spain with you!
Ginestar is still very much a farming community, with many fiestas throughout the year celebrating the various crops of olives, grapes, almonds, peaches and other fruits. In the village itself, there are a few bars, two playgrounds, bakeries, fishmongers and other general stores. There is also a large municipal swimming pool about 5 minutes from the house, which is open from June to September. The river Ebre is a ten-minute walk through the vineyards, with a pleasant jetty and picnic tables from which to relax and watch a multitude of birds (and kayakers) go by, you might even spot some of the giant Catfish. The larger supermarkets and other facilities such as banks and the hospital are about 10 minutes drive away in nearby Mora D'Ebre.
The house also provides a great base from which to explore this relatively unspoiled inland area of Catalunya, with beautiful Mediterranean beaches only 30 minutes away and several mountain ranges, ideal for hiking and cycling pretty much on your doorstep. There are lots of other things to see and do in the area, with something for everyone - from vineyard and olive grove tours to canyoning, kayaking to art galleries and many local historical sites, such as Miravet Castle (which can be reached by foot via the traditional ferry which is just a twenty-minute walk from the village).
There are plenty of restaurants in the area serving traditional Catalan fayre with menu del dia offerings from around 12 euros and tapas dishes from 4 euros.
This is an area of Spain that is waiting to be discovered!
