Casa Higueras is our home; we live here in the house. We bought and restored a traditional village house and it operates as a Bed & Breakfast or a small hotel; we only have two guest bedrooms. It is important to note that the property is not self-catering and guests do not have use of the kitchen.
In the summer, our guests can use the large terrace and garden and in the winter we have two wood-burning fireplaces to keep the interior spaces cosy. We try to be as eco-friendly as possible, and our wood-burner acts as the boiler for the bedroom central heating. We have an energy-efficient aerothermic system for the hot water.
We believe we have created a beautiful home and we hope our guests feel very comfortable here with us.
The house is located in the historic village of Moclín, 45 minutes' drive from central Granada.
We love sharing our passion for Spain with our guests. We can advise on places to visit, hiking routes, places to eat and much more. Although we don't operate as a restaurant, we can provide lunch and dinner with 48 hours' notice, and we use fresh local ingredients in all of our cooking.
Moclín is a little-known but historically important village, sitting on the top of a mountain with spectacular views across Granada to the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The village is lively and traditional, and there are many glorious hiking routes in the vicinity.
In the landscapes around the village, there are many hiking routes, neolithic caves with cave paintings, trenches from the Spanish Civil War and the most breathtaking views.
On the top of the mountain, above the village, sits the 13th Century Castillo de Moclín, and we can arrange tours of the castle on request.
