Hello my name is Karen and I have lived in this village of Lubrin since 2002, I love it here. I have built a little business here Casa y Campo in the area and love my work, helping others find their perfect home or holiday home, helping and support them along the journey. I have travelled widely and although I have seen some beautiful places, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. I have two teen girls who were born here and they are growing up in this beautiful area of Almería. We are located only a short distance to the coast, 40 minutes by car and 50 minutes to the airport of Almeria. This is a great area for exploring the surrounding countryside, places of interest nearby are the filming locations of the old Spaghetti Westerns in Tabernas. The caves of Sorbas, the architecture of the city of Almeria and the Alcazaba which towers high over the city, a great day trip! There are so many beaches to explore, the natural beaches of Cabo de Gata which are sparse of people out of season and absolutely beautiful! Further afield but possible day trips are Granada, Lorca, Cartagena. There are mountain walks straight from the door and lots of places nearby to discover. A super townhouse walking distance to all of the tapas bars and restaurants of Lubrin. Lubrín is a pretty white pueblo tucked away in the Los Sierra Filabres mountain range, just a 40 minute drive to the pristine beaches of Mojacar! A very Spanish pueblo with all the you can need for a lovely weekend break or more…all the essential shops are here; butchers, bakers, bank (ATM) pharmacy and general stores. We are blessed with the fantastic Almazara (olive oil press) and honey is available to buy direct or in the local stores. Wednesday is the “bustling” market day, when you have the opportunity to enjoy Churros. All the village come to stock up on their weekly veggies and fruit. It’s a great opportunity to just sit in the central plaza an take some sun over coffee…and of course churros! We have some wonderful tapas bars here in the village, just a short stroll from the house. Los Chiveros, the Argentinian serve the most wonderful pizzas to take away also. In the summer months the outdoor pool is a lovely place to while away the day alongside the pine trees and soft grass. The tapas here are served from 12:00 noon until 20:00! Further afield you can stock up from the larger supermarkets, but pretty much is available here on our doorstep.
