Casaroc is a renovated village house with traditional features and a big terrace with views across the valley to the mountains. The two bedrooms each have two twin beds and there's a full bathroom - bath with shower - and a small but well-equipped kitchen included washing machine. The owner lives next door so if you need any local knowledge, just knock! more details available.
Sella is one of Europe's favourite Winter-sun rock climbing resorts and the local climbing areas are many and varied. We are also a centre for walking and hiking - short, medium and long-range routes all start in or cross the village.
I bought the house in 1988 but it wasn't fully restored and rebuilt until 2005 since when I've rented it out mainly to walkers and climbers. This is my first venture here on Booking. Over the yeas we've had guests from all over the world - Azerbaijan stands out as the most exotic, but our Irish, Scandinavian, English and American visitors have been frequent return-ees.
Personally I study Valencian, the local language ( they also speak Spanish), play Petanca and teach some English in the village. My house terrace ( just below that of Casaroc) is dedicated to raised-bed gardening and my beans and peas are looking good!
We're at the top of the village, just below the little hill which winds up to the Chapel of Santa Bárbara. Sella has just 600 inhabitants, 5 bar-restaurants, a chemist's, two shops, two wood-fired bakeries and a couple of cash machines. Recently one of the village families started a take-away pizzería which has proved very popular. It's a very friendly place where visitors are welcome. Many local walks along river banks or our across the hillsides start in the village. We're just 20 minutes from the pretty coastal town of La Vila Joiosa with its 3 chocolate factories, 40 strong fishing fleet and its famous painted houses - and a mile of lovely beaches!
