Peñarroya de Tastavíns has been recognized as a Magical Town of Spain. The philosophy of the Magical Towns Initiative is mainly based on rewarding towns that stand out for their monumentality and the beauty of their urban landscape, as well as their historical and cultural heritage.
In this case, they have valued the environment, the Rocas del Masmut, and the fact that there is a Dinópolis subheadquarters. They have also taken into account deep-rooted traditions, such as the rogativa carried out jointly with Vallibona in Castellón, which has more than 700 years of history. Peñarroya de Tastavins becomes the second town in Matarraña to belong to this association after La Fresneda, which became one of the Magical Towns in March.
It is a unique enclave, at the foot of the Puertos de Beceite and only 6 km from Monroyo, a small village where the Camino de Santiago passes through.
