The owner (Ann Kearney), of Irish descent, arrived in Spain as a child
with her family and fell in love with the country. As a ballet teacher she
formed two dance schools in Andalucía which she ran until she moved
to Madrid to marry and form a family.
La Pizarra is an old country house, in a former wine region, that her
husband Eduardo de Salas rebuilt and modernized as a holiday home
for the family; which, with time, became their permanent residence.
When she became a widow, Ann wanted to convert La Pizarra into a
place of peace and contemplation of the natural surroundings.
El Lagar de la Pizarra is situated in an area of diverse flora and fauna,
with easy access to local places of historical interest.
In the future Ann would like to convert the house into a Life project of
helping to improve society, organizing activities which promote personal
growth.
