A stunning modern but cosy 2 bedroom apartment of over 70 m2. Fully equipped from a lemon squeezer to a PS3! Lots of DVDs, books (french and english) and games. This is a perfect home-from-home for your family on holiday. The apartment will be all ready for you when you arrive, hot water, towels, beds made up with quality linens. The owners live above the apartment and are available to help you maximise your enjoyment of this amazing part of France.
Melissa & Mark moved from the UK to France in 2011 and have been welcoming guests to the apartment, which was built when their house was constructed, in 2013. Now settled in the delightful village of Sixt they keep hens, grow vegetables and of course ski and walk in the mountains that surround their home. Melissa said "We moved to the alps to enjoy the skiing (both alpine and cross country) but have since found that the summer months are almost more magical. Incredible mountain walks (from an easy stroll to a real mountain hike) and lots of out door activities for all the family, rafting, canyoning, high wire adventures and so much more! We look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful corner of France and helping you to enjoy your holiday."
Sixt is a very french village set in a stunning location. The village has a boulangerie (bakery) and several restaurants and bars but is a peaceful base for a family vacation. In winter the skiing is the main attraction, Samoens is under 10 minutes drive away and from there the gondola lift (the GME) whisks you to 1600m and the start of the Grand Massif ski area. Beginners and tots who want to sledge can still benefit from the pistes of Sixt which are just 400m away from the apartment. In summer there are a host of activities many of which can start in Sixt but the whole Giffre Valley is full of events and things to do during the summer months. Out of season (June and September and October) are often some of the best months to enjoy the valley, with good weather and less people, the walking and cycling can be enjoyed in these cooler months.
