Property information

L'Orangerie is a petit chateau situated in the beautiful Thouet Valley area of Deux Sevres, 10 minutes from Saint Loup sur Thouet and 25 minutes from Parthenay. Chateau l’Orangerie is peace, quiet and tranquillity. Originally built in the 1850's as a hunting lodge it is restored throughout and rooms are decorated with period furnishings. Set in a hectare of mature gardens and woodland with an abundance of flora and fauna overlooking the surrounding valleys. The grounds include an in-ground guest pool. Relaxation is a focal point at L'Orangerie, with lounges and beautiful outdoor seating areas where guests can order afternoon teas, coffees and drinks. Breakfast is included with your stay, optional evening meals are also available. Please make a reservation for an evening meal 48 hours in advance.

Neighbourhood information

The 'Petite Cité de Caractère' of Saint Loup sur Thouet is 10 minutes away. It is a village full of character and offers cafés, bars and a small selection of shops. The village can also be accessed via walking trails that provide a variety of walking treks through the country side. Nearby Lake Cebron has bird watching, sailing, fishing and swimming with extensive walking/orienteering and cycling trails around the foreshore. A nature centre is also located at the lake. The ancient fortified town of Parthenay with its historic cobbled streets, citadel and the Saint-Jacques Gate and Bridge is only 25 minutes away. Futuroscope and the city of Poitiers is just under an hour’s drive and provides international airport and the fast TGV link for a 1½ hour journey to Paris.
