La port Rose is an independent apartment attached to a Maison de maître in the village of Rochesson with pretty views of the church, garden, and surrounding countryside. In summer at the weekends coffee and cakes are served in the garden of the main house. The apartment has a cosy lounge with a TV and a wood burner. It leads into a well-equipped kitchen with a table and seating for 4 people. On the upper level, there are 2 large bright bedrooms, one with a 160cm bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. There is a modern shower room and a separate toilet. During July and August, there is a private 3x3m splash pool in the garden. The Nordic hot tub in the main garden can be used on request.
Hello I'm Allison and I'm married to Ian. We moved to France in 1994 from Kent. We have lived in Rochesson the whole time but have moved around it. We decided in 2020 to take on the empty hotel in the heart of the village and give back some life to the village that has been so kind to us. At weekends we open the garden for soft drinks and homemade cakes. Breakfast can be served in the garden or we can deliver it. (Breakfast in a basket.) The village of Rochesson is in an area of natural beauty. There are plenty of beautiful walks for all abilities, winding rivers, pretty waterfalls, and some stunning views. The area is highly recommended for cycling. In the centre of the village, you have the boulangerie, school and us. Rochesson has the smallest piste de ski in France. We are 9km from Gérardmer, with its large lake, shops, restaurants, and bars.
