Tan yr Eglwys is conveniently located so that it is easy to reach most of South Wales within an hour, eg Cardiff to Carmarthen, Brecon, Swansea Bay and the Gower coastline. The cottage is easily reached from the M4 and A465 from the Midlands. The location is quiet and rural yet less than 2 miles from Pontardawe and a wealth of supermarkets and other facilities.
We look forward to welcoming guests to Tan yr Eglwys. Once guests book to stay, we are happy to share information regarding the many places to visit from the cottage. As there is such a choice for all interests, we are happy to advise on great places to visit. Equally although we are nearby to assist, you may easily not see us during your stay, but reassuringly we are on hand if any queries arise.
Tan yr Eglwys is located in a tiny hamlet, a cluster of a dozen or so houses around the local ancient parish church. We are surrounded by countryside, fields, woodland and streams, yet Pontardawe is only 2 miles away and Neath is 4 miles and an easy 9 mile car journey takes guests to Swansea. The location is between the Brecon Beacons and the Gower beaches, waterfall country is very near. Easily reached are castles, Country Parks, the National Botanic Garden of Wales, walks of all descriptions, from the Wales Coastal Path, canal walks, Sustrans cycle paths along old railway tracks, hills, mountains and beaches. Guests visit :- Waterfalls in the Neath and Swansea valleys Gower Beaches The Afan Argoed Mountain Bike Trails ZipWorld Tower Dan yr Ogof Caves Cardiff Bay Tenby The Brecon Beacons and so much more. There are numerous Museums, Theatres, indoor Climbing Centres, Cinemas, sports facilities, the LC pool etc for wet weather options.
