Hi
I hope you like the chalet, we think it is quite special.
My husband, daughter (14) and son (9) like to stay as often as we can. We are based in Gloucestershire but I grew up in Cornwall and miss the sea. We love nature, wildlife, and exploring. The chalet provides the perfect base.
I am a web designer by profession and my husband is in IT Sales, good internet is a must hence the starlink internet. It also means my daughter can stream 'Wednesday' on Netflix, while my son is streaming 'Beyblades' in their bedroom. My husband and I can have a quiet glass of wine watching something more to our taste in the living room, we make the internet work hard!
We are a family which would normally go on self-catering holidays and explore. I have never been to Center Parcs, Bluestones, Butlins or similar, so the chalet for us was more about having a base in such a beautiful area of the world rather than being on the Parkdean Holiday Park. That said it is a lovely holiday park and it is so nice to be able to walk down the hill and use the facilities. There is always someone on reception who can help if need be too.
Hope you have a lovely holiday, wherever you choose to go!
The local area is beautiful, wild, rural, and hilly!
Close to beaches, cliffpaths, woodlands and moorland it is no wonder it has been declared an UNESCO Area of Natural Beauty.
Bideford is the nearest town and is 8 miles away. There is a bus the 319 which runs between Hartland and Barnstaple but a car is probably necessary to see the most of the area.
Westward Ho! (8 miles) is a lovely family resort, with sandy beaches, rock pools and fish and chips.
From Bideford you can catch a ferry over to the Island of Lundy to see the Puffins and other wildlife.
Appledore is near by too and has a Book Festival in September. Northam Nature Reserve and the Pebbleridge Cafe is a personal favourite.
Unspoilt, world-renowned Clovelly is a few miles away and can be accessed by the coast path from 18 Bucklands. It is hilly though!
Within a few miles there are local attractions such as 'The Milkyway Theme Park', 'The Big Sheep', North Devon Wake Park'.
There is also Dartington Crystal and the famous Tarka Trail for cycling (inspired by the book Tarka the Otter).
Bideford Bay Holiday Park has indoor and outdoor swimming pools (charges apply), playground, crazy golf, amusements, and more...
