Gallery inspired, quintessential York townhouse finished with original local artwork. Situated in the historic, very quiet, family neighbourhood of Bishophill, with on street parking, a stone’s throw away from York’s ancient city walls, historic sites and iconic attractions. Our guests are only a short walk away from soaking up the atmosphere of nearby Bishopthorpe Road and Micklegate, both bustling with many independent shops, cafés, award winning restaurants and traditional pubs.
We would love to meet all of our guests and welcome them to our city and we will remain contactable throughout the course of your stay should you have any queries. All guests will be provided with a detailed guide to the city enabling you to experience York like the locals do.
The house is perfectly situated between Bishopthorpe Road (2015 Britain’s Best High Street award winner) with its independent shops, cafes, restaurants and award winning traditional pubs and Micklegate, renowned for modern dining establishments Partisan, Rattle Owl, and Skosh (recipient of Michelin’s 2020 Bib Gourmand). Spend the mornings taking in the atmosphere of Bishopthorpe Road before strolling through the peaceful grounds of nearby Rowntree Park, just 2 minutes away. Here the gardens and lakes provide the perfect setting to enjoy a tranquil picnic in the sun or why not grab a cup of coffee and a slice of cake in the park’s ever popular Reading Room Cafe. Bordering Rowntree Park is the riverside walk which within 10 minutes will lead you directly into the heart of York where a world of historic wonders awaits! After a long day exploring Gothic Cathedral’s, ancient ruins, and cobbled streets our guests can meander home along the river or walk along the ancient city walls, pausing to soothe their souls with a warm welcome and well earned drink at the community run Golden Ball pub, only 2 minutes from home…
