Bonnie Haven is a small modern Bed and Breakfast that caters mainly for couples or people traveling on their own as we have only three bedrooms, all with en suite showers, king sized beds and now lockable doors. The upstairs room or "Deluxe double" is in fact the smallest bedroom and shower in the house but in compensation has a small sitting area just outside the French doors of the bedroom, on the mezzanine, with views across the bay. Access to this room is via a narrow spiral staircase and will not suit all so please be aware when booking. The remaining two bedrooms, are on the ground floor, adjacent to each other. The property overlooks the River Inver, a salmon river and has views (in the shared sitting room/breakfast room) across the village towards a working harbour. Breakfast is in the continental style (which is not a cooked breakfast) and with so many modern dietary requirements, we provide instead a wide range of fresh fruit, ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal, coffee, teas and breads. Also, to promote a peaceful atmosphere we purposely do not provide televisions in any of the bedrooms in order that noise is kept to a minimum but there is a television in the sitting room for guests use.
When on holiday with my family I love to explore historical buildings, visit places of interest, take part in sports whether it be walking, climbing, rowing , kayaking etc, go out to eat and of course relax. I know local advice is often the best so if there is anything I can help you with please ask so I can make your stay more enjoyable. I would like you to feel at rest and at home at Bonnie Haven and hopefully you can meet my other guests, swap tips of the best places to visit and eat out but most of all have a great relaxing stay.
Lochinver is a tiny fishing village well situated on the NC500 between Gairloch/Ullapool and Durness. On either side of the village are two beautiful circular single track roads/routes which follow the coastline, passing through some incredibly scenic countryside, with mountains rising up to the heavens, showing off their craggy peaks, amazing white sandy beaches and lochs nestled deep in the glens. There is also the alternative main road (double track) which leads out of Lochinver that will take you past the ruined castle of Ardvreck, perfectly situated on a peninsula on Loch Assynt, or onwards to the Bone Caves close to Inchnapamph where herds of wild deer roam. Bonnie Haven sits on the north side of the bay in Lochinver, over the old bridge, above the church, first left past the red house and left again down a steep private drive, we are on the right. We have plenty free parking surrounding the house and three benches to sit on when the weather is just right. Before arriving, asap, I would highly recommend booking a table in one our local restaurants of which there are several although I highly recommend Dalilah's which is a ten minute walk from the house across the village.
