We loved this beautiful, remote location. Comfortable beds and well thought-out facilities...it had everything we needed. We were woken by the sound of birdsong and sheep baa-ing in the morning, and stepped out to a stunning view...bliss!

We went with a group and we had everything required available. Cosy stay and great views. Good spot for stargazing (if clouds permit)

Small bedside cupboards and a shelved unit with a variety of board games/books and coffee table. Derwen, our other 6m bell tent sleeps up to 6 people. A cosy and comfortable space with a double bed, 2 single beds and a small double sofa bed. All bedding is supplied. A private composting loo just beside, a gas heated shower and use of one side of the covered outdoor kitchen. Freezer blocks are placed in cool boxes in the kitchen before your arrival and can be swapped daily. Each side of the kitchen has a handy worktop with a double camping stove. Cooking and dining equipment is stored in plastic boxes underneath the worktops. Please make every effort to clean and replace in readiness for the next guests. Food waste can be placed in the caddy provided. Please take all rubbish back with you to dispose of / recycle. Firewood for the firepits can be purchased in many of the shops in Llandovery. Each unit has some books, playing cards and board games, plus some binoculars to spot the Red Kites. The area is truly beautiful, with stunning views of rolling hills and mountains. Close to several walking routes including The Cambrian Way and the Heart of Wales Trail.
I am an artist living and working at the neighbouring property. I take much inspiration for my artwork from the beautiful surroundings. My studio is an old railway carriage and is in our front lawn with amazing views of hills and mountains. My husband is a mechanic and has a garage in Llandovery. We have two teenage children so between us we work as a team to provide a welcoming glampsite. We are lucky enough to be able to live with my mother on her sheep farm. As my childhood home, I would spend a huge amount of time playing and exploring outdoors. There are some lovely routes to walk nearby and spectacular views too. During the summer months we enjoy laying out on the lawn stargazing and spotting shooting stars. We have created a beautiful retreat in which we are pleased to share with our guests in the hope that they can appreciate the stunning environment. We will continue to plant wildflower seeds, perennials and trees to encourage bees, birds and other wildlife.
Calon Y Goedwig (Heart of the forest) is a secluded and peaceful glamping retreat with outstanding views of Carmarthenshire hills and mountains. A dark skies area. Red Kites, woodpeckers and owls can be seen around the site aswell as moths, butterflies and dragonflies. Llandovery has a good selection of shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and pubs and remains of the late thirteenth century Llandovery castle. Learn about Llandoverys history at Llandovery Museum and Visitor Gateway. Lots of lovely walks nearby including The Heart Of Wales and Cambrian Way trails. Visit Twm Sion Cati's cave and the Dinas Nature Reserve, Cwm Rhaeadr forest and MTB Trail and Llyn Brianne Reservoir - all within a 40 minute drive away. If you fancy a bigger hike then Llyn Y Fan & Pen Y Fan are around a 40 minute drive away too. Within approx 30-50 mins drive, you'll find National Trust properties including Newton House/Dinefwr Park, Dolaucothi Goldmines, Abergwesyn Common, Paxton's Tower and Llanerchaeron. Aberglasney and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales are also 40-50 mins drive away. Bannau Brecheiniog/Brecon Beacons are approx. 20-30 mins away.
