Company information

We are very lucky to have such an incredible team at Cley Windmill, with majority of our staff growing up just down the road from the Windmill! We are a small, friendly and welcoming team who strive to make your stay as relaxing, memorable and enjoyable as possible. Many of our guests feel like they are arriving at a home away from home. In such a historic building, surrounded by the most peaceful and stunning countryside. We know the Windmill has a special place in not only the hearts of our staff, the local people but also our guests.

Property information

Cley Windmill has been around since at least 1819 and was a working flour windmill for over a hundred years. It has been used as a home and holiday home for the last hundred. The Windmill has had many owners and has been loved through the years, it was also a location in the Elizabeth Taylor film, The Conspirator, 1949. The Windmill still has many features including the internal mechanical system to turn the sails, which is part of a bedroom! The balcony and rooms look over the Cley marshes, coast, village and beyond. We have 3 pet friendly rooms, Boat House, Long House and Dovecote.

Neighbourhood information

Cley Windmill is just next to the River Glaven in the stunning and historic village of Cley-Next-The-Sea. The village with pubs, cafes, art galleries and shops is a thriving community with everyone you could need whilst keeping the quite coastal village feel. Cley and the other local coastal villages are considered a place of natural beauty and wildlife conservation areas. A bird watchers, nature lovers and sea swimmers dream!
