Sevenoaks and the surrounding countryside offer a delightful mix of historic houses, stunning gardens, and rolling landscapes. Explore world-class hillside gardens; shop directly from local artisans in thriving villages; or immerse yourself in lively festivals held in fields and castles. The region is also a haven for food lovers, offering some of the finest produce. What's more, this idyllic countryside is just on the doorstep of Greater London, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing rural retreat and an exciting city break all in one.
A short drive away (4.5 miles) is the town of Sevenoaks where you will discover a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants. Bluewater Shopping Centre is 30 minutes' drive away.
Ightham Mote, an outstanding 14th century moated manor house set within beautifully landscaped gardens and a sprawling estate is within walking distance through lavender fields; Also nearby are Chartwell, the country home of Sir Winston Churchill. Don't miss the opportunity to see the desk of the former Prime Minister meticulously arranged with framed photos, cigars, and spectacles, offering a personal touch to his legacy; Originally build as an archbishop's place, Knole is a vast estate sitting proudly within Kent’s last medieval deer park; Visit the 17th century panelling and Jacobean overmantel in the parlour (within which the mutilated arms of Henry VII are inserted) at Quebec House, a Tudor building where General James Wolfe spent his early years; Explore the rose and rock gardens from one of the highest spots in Kent, Emmetts Garden offers panoramic views over the unspoilt Weald as well as some great walking opportunities. Stoneacre is a 15th-century half-timbered yeoman's house, surrounded by a glorious garden, orchard and meadows, and featuring a great hall; Visit Hever Castle and Gardens, the childhood home to Anne Boleyn, the second Wife of Henry VIII and the mother of Elizabeth I.
