A Peaceful Retreat: Our cottage is your tranquil home base. Step out the door and you'll be met with the fresh sea air and the calming sounds of the coast. It's the perfect place to unwind with a good book, enjoy a cup of tea, and simply be.
Stunning Coastal Scenery: The property is situated on the picturesque east coast, with the crescent-shaped Rosehearty Beach just a stone's throw away. You can expect dramatic views of the North Sea, and on a sunny day, the white sands and clear waters can feel almost tropical. The nearby coastal walks, like the path to the "Wastart" or the ruins of Pitsligo and Pittulie Castles, offer breathtaking vistas and a chance to spot local wildlife, including dolphins.
A Glimpse into History: Rosehearty is a historic fishing village, with a rich maritime past. The village still has its distinctive rows of fishermen's cottages and an active harbor, providing an authentic look into Scottish coastal life. You'll be able to see the ruins of the 15th-century Pitsligo Castle, a short walk from the cottage, which adds a layer of ancient history to your stay.
And most of all, a warm welcome.
It's a pleasure to share this special place with you. I'm new to Scotland myself and have fallen completely in love with Rosehearty and its stunning surroundings. This cottage is my way of sharing that joy with others.
I'm more than happy to introduce myself and share my favourite spots, local tips, and what I've learned about this beautiful country. Just let me know. However, if you prefer to simply relax and enjoy your privacy, I'm equally happy to leave you to it.
The community here is wonderfully warm and welcoming, offering a genuine taste of Scottish coastal life.
While the village itself is a tranquil retreat, you're only a five-minute drive from the larger town of Fraserburgh, where you'll find everything you might need.
A few of our favourite spots in and around Rosehearty include:
Pitsligo and Pittulie Castles: Take a short walk from the cottage to discover the romantic ruins of Pitsligo Castle, a 15th-century fortress with a fascinating history. Its neighbour, Pittulie Castle, is a short walk away. These ruins offer a stunning backdrop for photos and a glimpse into the area's dramatic past.
Rosehearty Harbour: The heart of the village, the harbour is still active with a small fleet of fishing boats. It's the perfect place for a gentle stroll, watching the boats come and go, and soaking up the authentic maritime atmosphere.
The "Wastart": This is a local name for the dramatic west rocks and coastal path. A walk along this rugged coastline is a must, offering breathtaking views of the North Sea and a chance to spot local wildlife, including dolphins.
