A warm welcome awaits in Ty'n y Cwm, a beautiful 3- bedroom cottage in the heart of Snowdonia. Ty'n y Cwm means 'House in the Valley' - the valley, in this case being the foot of the famous and scenic Llanberis Pass. Whether you are looking for a few days (or weeks!) of hillwalking or climbing, a peaceful break away from it all, a family holiday within close range of numerous beauty spots and fun-packed attractions this cottage offers it all. With views of the mountains from every window, a private, sunny garden, excellent wifi and a log burner for cooler evenings, this versatile and cosy cottage will be your perfect base.
Hi, my name is Ros and I fell in love with this area of North Wales many years ago as a 17 year old rock-climber. Ty'n y Cwm is my dream cottage - right in the heart of the mountains and within easy reach of so many of the best places to explore and visit. I have a fantastic property manager, Amy, who will be on hand during your stay should you have any questions or in the unlikely event of any problems. She lives in the village herself so is a wealth of local knowledge too! I really hope you enjoy your stay - and fall in love with Ty'n y Cwm as much as I did.
There is a bus stop within two minutes walk of the front door, with regular Sherpa buses to take you to the key starting point at Pen-y-Pass for the walk up Mount Snowdon - and, if you step outside the back door, you can see the iconic 'Crib Goch' ridge, leading up to the peak. On evenings when you don't feel like cooking, or fancy a pint after a day out and about, the Vaynol Arms, a historic village pub, with an excellent food menu is 3 minutes walk up the road. For families, there is a well-equipped children's playpark two minutes walk from the cottage, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery - so you can continue to soak up the beauty even whilst pushing a swing. The village of Llanberis is a 5 minute drive away (or a 30 minute scenic walk following the edge of Llyn Peris lake, past all the old slate workings). Llanberis is where you will find the Snowdon Mountain railway, a fascinating (and free) Slate museum with plenty of activities for children, the Llyn Padarn lake railway and well-stocked Spar shop, numerous cafe's, and a Chinese and Indian takeaway. Many water-based activities take place on Llyn Padarn and you can hire paddle boards, kayaks or join the other wild swimmers for a refreshing dip!
